Business Challenge
The company had several systems in use by the online banking portal application. The input parameters required from the user to access the application was dependent on the requirements of each system and based on the user's geographic location.
Since it was technically difficult to consolidate these systems into a single system with common functions, the company requested solutions from the Axmor Java EE consultants to integrate these systems and offer a common interface to all users, irrespective of their location.
Software Solution
Based on the customer's business needs, Axmor Java developers utilized IBM WebSphere technologies for the development. The solution: a server side Java application was created to simulate the business logic and flow of the customer's application. These applications were deployed under WebSphere portal server.
Axmor Java / Java EE consultants included these features based on four web services:
- User Data: based on user ID, this web service determines the system that will be used, and gets any particular data the system requires
- Account Details: this web service provides a list of accounts and their balances to the user
- Ad Service: determines which account type is missing, and displays the advertisement with the detailed account summary to the user
- Funds Transfer Service: allows the user to transfer funds in a secure and convenient way
Accessing the system through a common interface the user is asked for specific information regardless of their location. It reduces the time required for information processing and contributes to faster data submission and retrieval.
Axmor Java / Java EE development team created a simple application that illustrates the best way to integrate several systems and provide users with easy access to the online banking services. They also demonstrated how WebSphere Portal Server can be used to deliver this application to the users via the Internet.
