Business Challenge
The customer required the system to be built on open architecture so that new functionality
and services could be easily added when needed.
Our customer continually searches for new business opportunities in the market.
In 2002, our customer discovered a lack of top-notch news portals on the Web. The
company made the decision to establish a large news portal that would capture news
from numerous resources and become a viable competitor with multiple smaller Web
portals.
To attract as many portal visitors as possible, the customer required that the portal
be accessible and used not only from Internet-connected PCs, but also from PDA devices
and WAP-enabled phones.
Our customer required the system to be built on open architecture so that new functionality
and services could be easily added when needed.
Software Solution
Axmor Software developers, together with the company, developed and launched a full
scale news portal within 6 months. The news portal collects information from multiple
news resources and ensures that users have a comprehensive look at events.
A user-friendly interface and handy navigation, the possibility of user registration
and personalization, flexible subscription to free and paid-for information services
ensure the portal attracts many new visitors every day.
The portal offers a rich toolkit for information customization and portal administration.
In a few clicks, the portal administrator can add or delete new information fields,
edit user information, delete registered users, and make news fields available to
anonymous users and registered users.
