Business Challenge
Our customer decided to design a web application to help maintain tax records and
related forms with easy retrieval for tax return preparation. Sending financial
information over the Internet required a highly secure and reliable software solution.
Software Solution
Axmor’s .Net programmers designed a web application
that allows the saving and categorizing of receipt images for long periods of time,
and a simplified process of entering financial data and its retrieval in the form
of a printable report or an export file over the Internet.
The user can assign a personal accountant to prepare a tax return, and generate
a separate login and password specifically for this purpose. At tax time, the user
retrieves data collected during the year, which is grouped by month. Expense items
are available in .pdf reports. An additional option is to export the data file in
a format accepted by any tax return preparation software.
In order to develop a software solution that would satisfy our customer, Axmor’s
.Net programmers first had to overcome 2 common offshore outsourcing drawbacks:
When the project started, our customer was not sure about all functionality details.
This is typical for custom software development. Axmor’s .Net programmers responded
by developing the application in stages. After reviewing each new version, our customer
suggested improvements and modifications. In return, the programmers provided technical
advice and offered implementation options. Axmor’s flexibility afforded our customer
application functionality in conjunction with the developed software, and at minimum
cost.
During the software development project, Axmor’s .Net development team kept in touch
with our customer on a daily basis via chat; thus, allowing our customer to control
project progress and development directions. All changes to the software were discussed
in real time, which created mutual understanding and eliminated implementation errors.
