Business Challenge
A popular community website needed re-design to benefit from the hot web
technologies and support a growing number of users, improve performance and
prepare an infrastructure for further enhancement. The original website was
developed using JHTML and proprietary software that prevented flexible
extendibility and was also contributing to performance issues.
Solution
Axmor’s J2EE developers deployed several projects to port the multifaceted
website to JSP and Oracle J2EE platform to support and continue adding multiple
new features and opportunities for website users.
Improved Application Infrastructure
Porting website to Oracle J2EE platform resolved performance issues, and also
our developers created sophisticated cache algorithms to solve this problem.
After the re-build using industry-leading technology, the website gained
flexibility and can now be extended with any imaginable functions for admin area
and for the visitors. A large and growing audience of over 3 million users now enjoy a speedy and reliable website that contains thousands of topics.
With that, a rich brand-specific interface was kept recognizable on the new
platform.
Website Functionality Enhancement
With help of hired Oracle developers, the slow and outdated website caught a
second wind. Cutting-edge technologies broadened a horizon of possible solutions
to realize each and every idea of the site owners. A lot of new features were
already added by Axmor’s Java programmers. The site visitors can now share their
life experience in message boards, express their personality in live journals and
participate in many events carried out by the web-site community. And we continue
to grow this website.
Modern User Management Solutions
All this would not be possible without modern and advanced user management
system that Axmor’s developers built to replace an obsolete and inconvenient
solution. We integrated a new application that supports authentication and single
sign-on, user profile and subscription management, and many other features to
meet daily growing needs of the entertainment web portal.
To achieve this, our Java programmers solved one of the most complicated problems
and applied a new approach without loosing existing user’s data. The problem was
solved by customizing Oracle Single Sign-On server with the integration of LDAP
server and the renovated website.
Offshore developers were completely responsible for porting website interface and
development of the entire business logic for new applications. They offered
technical options and alternatives that helped to best meet customer’s
requirements and resolve specific technical problems. As a result, the production
company is very satisfied with how the website has improved and has forthcoming
plans to redesign the site architecture and add more versatile functions with
help from Axmor’s J2EE programming team.
