Business Challenge
To avoid filling up reserved PDA memory with media content, our customer decided
to enable the Pocket PC to play music saved on a desktop.
Software Solution
The Pocket PC player developed by Axmor’s mobile developers
allows control over multimedia players running on a desktop.
The user can select music files saved on a desktop from a Pocket PC. When the music
plays back on the desktop, the application captures and compresses the file to send
it over WiFi to a PDA. The OGG compressed stream is transmitted over HTTP protocol.
The PDA application decompresses and plays the received music file.
The user of this application can play different sources on his or her PDA:
- MP3 files
- DRM-protected files
- Radio channels
Starting with the iTunis multimedia player, our customer has charged Axmor with
extending the software product to support all major desktop players in the market.
