Business Challenge
As a cleaning company, our customer has
a number of employees who work at night
and who need to send photos from their
mobile phones to the office to highlight
problems they may encounter, such as
specific areas yet to be cleaned.
The company has experienced a number of
problems with its staff either
incorrectly forwarding the photos or
simply failing to forward them. Our
customer required a mobile phone
solution, so that a hotkey could
facilitate its staff to take a photo on
a camera phone and automatically send to
the office.
Software
Solution
Axmor experts delivered a
client-server application that fully
addresses the customer needs. EasyPhoto
is an application that allows snapping
photos using a mobile phone and sending
them to the office server in a simple
user-friendly manner. A client side is
based on Symbian mobile phones.
A cleaner comes by request to the site
to be cleaned. He/she then makes a
picture of the site to be cleaned and
sends it to a central server at the
company office. The cleaner makes it all
happen with only one phone key stroke
combination.
The solution consists of client and
server sides:
The client side is delivered on Symbian
OS. The solution runs on the following
camera phones (Nokia 7650, 3650, 3660, 6600
models).
- The server part accepts connections from
the mobiles and stores the received photos
into the database.
- When receiving the photo, the server stores
the date/time, phone identifier (IMEI) and
the photo itself in the database.
The server has an administrator interface
that is accessible using web browser. This
administrator interface allows browsing the
photos and groping by date or by phone
identifier.
